Sherbet loves yoga

Oh Good morning everyone. I bounced out of bed with a real spring in my step this morning as I feel full of new energy after my yoga lesson yesterday. It was so wonderful, I did love it but Oh dear, I have just realised, when I tried to walk into my kitchen, that lots of my muscles are aching in places that I did not know I had, even my ears are aching! I stretched myself so much in so many ways and now to make myself feel better I think I will just rest today. I forgot to tell you that as Marise Mouse is so small, it was difficult for me to see the yoga positions she was showing me so I brought my kitchen chair into the garden and lifted her onto it, it made a nice comfy platform for her and I could see her very well. Marise taught me to stand like a mountain so here I am standing nice and straight for you all to see. Love from Sherbetx

Marise Mouse is very naughty indeed but a very good yoga teacher

Yesterday Mango Mouse told me that his dear little friend Marise Mouse was very good at yoga so I invited her over to Clover Cottage to give me a yoga lesson.
I had asked her to come at 9.30 this morning and I waited and I waited   I looked out of my garden gate all along Wiggleway Lane and there was no sign of her. Oh dear, I did so hope she had not had an accident while cutting her cheese and bread for breakfast. Just as I was about to call Mango to go and look for her, there she was running as fast as her little legs would carry her . She was so out of breath, I secretly thought Oh dear again , I hoped she would be Ok for our yoga lesson. Marise told me she had been to a birthday party the evening before and she had gone to bed late and woke up very tired in the morning. What a very naughty mouse Marise is.  A very naughty mouse indeed!  I told her I forgave her, she had been very worried about not arriving on time. We then began a wonderful yoga lesson under my oak tree. I stretched up and down and sideways and over and under and inside out and my goodness I found myself in positions that I did not think were possible for a sheep like me. Afterwards we lay down on our backs and relaxed for a lovely long time with the sounds of my birds tweeting in our ears. How lovely it was. I feel all new again! Thank you Marise Mouse.

Sherbet is delighted to share his breakfast with visitors

Well, usually as you know it is very quiet here at Clover Cottage, not a sound except for my birds, my frogs, my crunchy leaves underfoot, the distant sound of lambs and cows in the fields at Greengate farm and the slurping of the hedgehogs as they drink their milk. But this morning I woke to a big noise outside, I opened my kitchen door to have a look and there was a motor scooter parking outside my gate. It seemed that I had visitors. A happy faced dog and his little cat friend came walking up my garden path. They said they had been this way before and they wanted to visit the famous Sherbet Sheep while they were here. How delightful!  I do love to have someone to share my breakfast with. I invited them both in, sat them at my kitchen table and made them some toast (made from Pearl's delicious home made bread)  with some strawberry jam also made by Pearl. I am very lucky to always have an abundant supply of scrumptious jam and bread from my dear friend. I did not have any freshly squeezed orange juice this morning but I did make a lovely hot pot of mint tea made with mint from my herb garden. I chatted with my new friends for several hours before waving them goodbye at my garden gate. They were such nice company that I was a  little sad to watch them ride away along Wiggleway Lane. I do hope they visit again soon .

Sherbet has exciting news

This morning I woke bright and early as Doodle had told me that the garden shop in the village at the other end of Wiggleway Lane had lots of new little baby vegetable plants to sell. Now, for me this is very exciting news as I just love, love, love riding my bike to the garden shop to see the  wonderful variety of plants they have there. I am so happy when I am surrounded by all of those little vegetable plants that are just sitting there waiting for me to buy them and take them home to my garden. You may wonder why I need to buy little vegetable plants as I am always planting seeds. Well you see, lately there has been so much rain that lots of my tiny seedlings have been squashed and drowned  and also the rain has brought out some very naughty slugs and they have eaten up my precious little plants. Now I have big gaps in my vegetable rows.  Before I go to the shop I am just going to sit in my garden on this lovely sunny day and count all of my blessings. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven...... Oh my goodness there are far too many blessings, it will take me all morning to count all of them so bye bye, have a lovely Sunday and I will see you tomorrow. Oh, isn't that a nice word
Sun- day, it must be a day when the sun always shines. Love from Sherbetx

A world full of big rainbow coloured circles of happiness

I feel so proud of my lovely vegetable garden. It is a true miracle that I can plant the tiniest little seeds in the ground and then not too long afterwards, some wonderful unseen creative magic makes whole rows of lettuce and carrots pop up out of the earth in my garden. What a wonderful blessing to have all of this rainbow coloured deliciousness that keeps me healthy and keeps my wool shiny.
I have just remembered a lovely saying that Pearl sent to me, it was written on a postcard. It reminds me of my vegetable garden . It goes something like this:

Sow seeds in the garden of your brother and you will see them bloom in yours.

Pearl told me that it means that if we do good deeds to another we will see good things come back to us. Oh how lovely, how wonderful. The whole world would be so happy if everyone sowed seeds in everyone else's gardens. It would be a world full of big rainbow coloured circles of happiness going round and round and round and round for ever and ever. Oh my goodness that makes me feel dizzy. Love and good deeds indeed. from Sherbetx

Sherbet sees a beautiful rainbow

It has been raining a lot today here at Clover Cottage.  It rained so hard at one point that I saw little rivers running through my garden. I know it made the frogs happy but my poor butterflies were hiding under the blackberry bush trying to keep dry. It has also been very windy. I was a bit afraid that my blackbirds would be blown out of their nest but when I looked up into the oak tree  there they all were safe and sound and all cuddled up together.  When the rain stopped, the sun came out and you can easily guess what I saw then. Up in the sky far far above my head  was the most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen . It seemed to spread it's rainbow coloured colours all over my garden and I watched as all the little creatures slowly peeped out from where they were sheltering and one by one they came out from their hidey holes to enjoy the rainbow with me. How lovely to share such a magnificent sight with all of my little creature friends.
After a few minutes the rainbow faded away and the earth had begun to dry a little. I decided it would be nice to try and plant some new vegetable seeds so I gathered up my basket of seeds and garden tools and sat patiently on my flowerpot waiting for the earth to become a little less sticky. I just always have to be careful because if it is too muddy I may get mud on my white woolly coat and that is just what I do not want to do as my shampoo never seems bubbly enough to get all of the mud out. I will talk to you all again soon, I am just going to have a little nap here on my flowerpot and wait for the sun to dry the earth a little more.  I am feeling really tired, my eyes are closing, it must be that my long trip home from Kathy Cat's house has worn me out!

Sherbet arrives home to Clover Cottage

Oh my goodness, it seems that I have been away such a long time. I had a really wonderful time staying with Kathy Cat. I did stay longer than intended as I do so enjoy her company. I was so very surprised to see all of the cats from Greengate Farm waiting for me by my kitchen door. Oh dear, that was very strange, they all looked so hungry and I saw that there  was no milk left in the hedgehog saucer ( Doodle had been feeding the hedgehogs while I was away)  I could only imagine that the farmer at Greengate Farm was away too as the cats had not been fed. I do hope he is not unwell. When I take the cats back I will go and make sure that all is normal at the farm.  Pearl always says it is very important to be kind to our neighbours and the Farmer is my only neighbour in Wiggleway Lane so I am very happy to be a good friend to him. I must rush off now and search in my kitchen cupboard to give the cats some of my special, crunchy, rainbow coloured cat biscuits before I take them back to the farm. I am so happy to be back home and I am very excited that I will soon have some new clothes made especially for me by my dear, talented, kind friend Kathy cat.  Love from Sherbetx

Kathy cat is making Sherbet some new clothes

Today I am going to visit Kathy cat for a few days. I will tell you a secret. Kathy cat is making me some new clothes. She is really so amazing because as well as knowing all the names of the plants and the trees, and  everything about gardening, she also knows how to make beautiful clothes. You see, I am actually very happy just wearing my cosy woolly white coat but sometimes I think it would be nice to have a change. At the moment, the wardrobe in my bedroom only  contains my  gardening boots and my  gardening gloves. It would be so nice to cheer it up with some new clothes. My main problem has always been that the shops in the village at the other end of Wiggleway Lane do not have any clothes to fit me. As you may have noticed,  I am slightly round and my ears stick up on top. Kathy cat is clever enough to be able to make me special clothes to fit my figure and I am very grateful to her. When I visit Kathy cat,  I will try on my new clothes and she will make any adjustments that need doing so that I can look absolutely splendid. I will see you all when I get back. Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet wonders at the miracles in his garden

Have you ever wondered how the tiniest caterpillar in the world, can know that there are some tasty basil leaves growing way above his head in a very tall terra cotta pot?  Somehow his little brain ( or his instincts or his sense of smell) knows that he must climb up the steep edges of a pot and there he will find newly growing leaves to nibble on. Well, that is what happened to me this morning, when I found a tiny caterpillar walking around the top of my tall pot of new basil. I stood there and wondered. I wondered at the miracle of the little caterpillar and his world, I wondered how he knew the basil was there, I wondered at his intelligence and instincts that tell him to climb the pot.  I think I will just sit down in my garden and focus on all the amazing, microscopic events that are happening all around me every day in my grass and around my plants. I am forever grateful for all the blessings surrounding me. Isn't life wonderful? Isn't life just truly magnificent? Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet is sitting on a rock today

Hello everyone, I do so hope you are all having a wonderful rainbow coloured day full of the best blessings you could ever wish for.
I myself am very happy after my evening last night with Pearl, Mango and Doodle. We all sat around my kitchen table and enjoyed sharing the most delicious rhubarb pie that Pearl has ever made. I have been patiently waiting for the rhubarb in my garden to ripen for a very long time now and it was all worthwhile, as here I am now sitting on a rock in my garden with my tummy still full up with scrumptiousness.  I am just resting today and enjoying the peace around me so I will say goodbye to everyone for now and I am sending big woolly Sherbet Sheep hugs to all of my friends that are nearby and far far away . Sherbet’s rhubarb pie dream comes true

Yippee, I had the most delightful surprise this morning . When I walked into my vegetable garden to check on my naughty slugs, there in front of my eyes were huge stalks of ripe rhubarb, all ready for me to pick. My rhubarb pie dream is coming true ! I rushed back into  Clover Cottage, had my breakfast, put on my gardening gloves and boots and then, Oh what a joy – I gathered the most beautiful bunch of rhubarb stalks I had ever seen. I piled them into my bicycle basket and rode along Wiggleway Lane to reach Pearl’s house. I was very careful not to bump my rhubarb too much as I did not want to bruise it. When Pearl saw my smiling face and my armfuls of rhubarb she guessed what I was so excited about as she knows how much I love Rhubarb pie. Pearl promised to make the pie in her most special way and we planned to invite Doodle and Mango to a special dinner tonight at Clover cottage to share Pearl's scrumptious pie.
Dreams do come true! It’s true!

Sherbet is so happy for all the new lambs at Greengate Farm

Well, here I am again.
I must say I am feeling very tired as I have been working very hard. There always seems to be so much to do in my garden and in Clover Cottage too. Thank goodness I have my lovely garden to rest in. It is so peaceful and I really love just sitting here listening to the birds tweeting in the trees. From this little tranquil spot in my garden, the wind seems to be blowing in the right direction as I can hear the new lambs baaaaaing in the fields of Greengate Farm at the other end of Wiggleway Lane.  How lovely!  I can imagine them leaping up and down in the air in their new happy, adventurous lives. What a delight to be a new lamb living on this planet. Abundant fresh, green grass to bounce around on, the warm sun shining down on them, lots of wool to stay cosy in, wonderful sheep friends from nearby and far far away and many, many rainbow coloured days ahead of them to discover wondrous things in.  How exciting for them. What could be better. Tomorrow, I will walk along Wiggleway Lane to Greengate Farm and introduce myself to all the new lambs.

Sherbet knows everything always turns out right

Hello my dear friends from near and far far away.
I am just going to sit on my grass and meditate today. I am feeling very calm and contented and I know that everything always turns out right for me, so I never have to worry about anything at all. I am truly blessed and truly grateful.  I wish the same lovely, calm, contented feelings for every one of you and I know that everything that happens to you will be as it is meant to be and everything will always be alright in the end even if sometimes your days do not feel full of rainbow colours.
A big warm, woolly sheep hug to you all.  Love from Sherbetx

Doodle and Sherbet share delicious pea soup

What a beautiful morning ! I am sure I had sweet dreams, even though I do not remember them -  as I awoke with a big smile on my face.  I know it had rained a lot in the night as I heard it pitter pattering down onto my roof, and I was just preparing myself to go and find any naughty slugs that were having breakfast on my tomato plants, when there was a knock on my kitchen door.  It was an absolute delight to me to find my dear friend Doodle standing there. He does not often have time to visit me as he is always working in his art studio.  He was carrying his usual string of peas, he says he loves the smell of freshly picked peas and I must say I agree with him, they have such a deliciously crunchy green pea kind of perfume which makes me want to make a big pot of pea soup. Oh what a good idea. I will invite Doodle to stay for lunch and we will share a scrumptious, healthy soup. Now, all we have to do is gather enough peas from my garden. We will sit on my kitchen doorstep in the morning sunshine and shell them together. It is such a pleasure to spend some time with my dear friend Doodle, preparing a lovely pea soup together.

How delightful ! Mango is well again.

Oh what a delight !  I went into my garden bright and early this morning to water my plants, and there peeping out of his watering can was Mango! He was well !   What a wonderful surprise to see  that his little wrist was all mended and that Marise mouse had taken his bandage off. Mango climbed out of his home, jumped up on my shoulder and gave my ears a big hug. He was so happy to be well again. He told me that Marise mouse had looked after his little wrist very well. She had rubbed a special strong smelling ointment into it and it made it feel much better. Marise and Mango had enjoyed a delicious breakfast together of very smelly cheese and bread ( I must say I do not like smelly cheese myself but I know Mango just loves it and I hope Marise does as Mango did not have any other kind ! ) Marise had left early to get back to her own house as she had to water her spinach. Talking about spinach, I am still waiting for my newly planted spinach seeds to grow into little seedlings. Oh what a miracle it will be to see them popping out of the soil. I just cannot wait.  I wish you all a very blessed day full of rainbow coloured adventures. Love from Sherbetx

Marise mouse takes care of Mango

Oh dear, I am a bit late writing my story today as my dear little mouse friend Mango fell into the leaf pile again.  He really is very naughty sometimes. The trouble is that this time he fell so hard that he hurt his little wrist and that is why I am late today. I heard him squeak in a painful, help me, kind of way and I rushed out from my kitchen to find him buried in the leaves that I had piled up yesterday.
Oh dear, poor Mango. I wrapped a bandage around his wrist and told him to rest in his watering can.  Mango asked me to go and fetch Marise mouse, his friend from the house that leads off of Wiggleway Lane, so I ran there and  Marise very kindly said she would come and take care of Mango until he was better.  So, there they are now, both of them keeping each other company in Mango's red watering can. I do hope Mango gets better soon.  He is blessed to have Marise mouse as his kind, caring friend.  I know she will cook him very healthy food to make him get well very soon indeed.

Sherbet's miracle pink rose

I heard a huge torrent of rain falling down in the night and I woke up worried about my one pink rose.  I rushed outside even before I had eaten my breakfast and to my relief,  my dear, pink rose was still there standing upright with all of it's petals.  It must be a true miracle rose as when I looked at some of my new little salad seedlings they were flattened down. I do hope they pop right up again. I can see the sun coming out now so they should be OK. The only bad news of the day was that I saw 2 slugs eating my tomato plant, the rain must have brought them out of their hiding places.  I do love all the little creatures in my garden and I want them to be happy but I just had to lift off those 2 slugs ( wearing my gardening gloves of course, and I don't mean the slugs were wearing my gloves I was ! ) They were oh so slimy and slippery and gooey but I managed to pull them off of the tomato leaves and I put them in the field next door so they could find a new home.  Now my vegetables are  safe again. Thank goodness! Love from Sherbetx

Pearl makes a delectable cake for Sherbet

This morning Pearl came to help me in my garden. I always look forward to Pearl's visits as she has the wonderfully scrumptious habit of bringing me some kind of newly baked yummy thing. Today she walked into my kitchen carrying her basket and as usual a delightful aroma came in with her. It filled my kitchen with warmth and deliciousness.
She unwrapped the cloth that held the treat, and put a very delectable looking chocolate and coconut cake on my kitchen table. Oh what a delightful sight it was, it is a long time since I have had the great pleasure of eating some of Pearl's home made cake.
As I had already had my breakfast, I told her that after we had finished our work, we would also invite Doodle and Mango to come and share the cake with us. It always feels special to share yummy things with my best friends.
Pearl and I spent a lovey morning in my garden.  Pearl especially loves the flowers, she is really so happy when she can spend time weeding around my rainbow coloured blossoms. Oh, what a lovely delightful word!  BLOSSOMS, BLOSSOMS, BLOSSOMS !!
She also loves, like me, to be close to all the little creatures that she finds living in the flowers.
Well, that is my little story for today, I cannot wait to eat some cake . Love from Sherbetx

Hello everyone, I am just sitting on my flowerpot today having a nice relaxing rest.

Sherbet dreams of rhubarb pie

Last night I had a delectable dream. It was so wonderful because I was dreaming all night long about eating Pearl's home made rhubarb pie. Of course, in real life I know she hasn't made it yet because I am still waiting for the rhubarb plant in my garden to grow big enough and tall enough and ripe enough and ready enough to pick.  As I woke up with my head full of rhubarb pie, I jumped out of bed and rushed straight out of my kitchen door to go and check on my rhubarb plant. I had hoped that some kind of miracle might have happened and that I would find a lusciously huge plant, like some kind of Jack and the beanstalk story, but no, it still was not ready to pick.  Oh dear, no pie for me just yet, I will just have to be patient and let nature do it's work. Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet visits Doodle in his art studio

It was such a lovely breezy, warm morning that I decided I would have a pleasant, healthy walk to visit Doodle in his art studio. I packed a little picnic with some of Pearl's  homemade bread  and some freshly picked tomatoes from my garden, and  poured some  crunchy sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds into a little bag. I was sure Doodle would be glad to share it with me when I arrived.
I certainly enjoyed my walk along Wiggleway Lane, taking notice of all the new fresh green leaves that are springing up in the trees and the bushes. Oh and how lovely it was to stop and look closely at the abundance of wild flowers in the hedgerows. It is such a delight to have the time to be close to nature. I picked up a tiny green grasshopper and he stayed on my shoulder all the way to  Doodle's art studio. It was fun to have my new little friend with me as I do love all the little creatures.
When we reached Doodle, we found him as usual being very creative. He was painting one of his big pots in all the colours of the rainbow and I noticed he had signs to remind himself to feed his tadpoles and to collect some stones.  Now, when I saw Doodle hard at work making beautiful things it reminded me very much of my 2 dear friends who have moved away from a house not far from the house of Marise Mouse, they are called Ada and Eli and I am thinking of them now as I know they are both very good at being creative and they paint lovely pictures.
I am very sure that even though they now live far far away they would love to come and feed tadpoles with Doodle and help him paint his pots. Oh how lovely it is to be around Doodle today and to see all the interesting things in his life. I am very blessed to have such a creative friend like Doodle. Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet enjoys working in his garden with his friends

I woke up to a lovely sunny morning with the birds singing sweetly in my ears.
I was still half asleep though when I suddenly remembered that I had asked Doodle, Pearl and Mango to come to help me with my garden tasks today.  I had asked them to have breakfast with me this morning too and I knew they could be here any minute, so I jumped up quickly and rushed into my kitchen to start putting out things on my kitchen table.  Just as I was reaching into my cupboard for my jar of Pearl's homemade blackberry jam, there was a knock on the door and in came my dear friends. Yummy! I smelled the delightful aroma of freshly baked bread as they walked in.  Pearl was carrying in her basket a delicious wholemeal loaf that she had made to my very favourite recipe. It had sunflower seeds and sesame seeds in it. Oh how absolutely scrumptious,  I just could not wait to eat it.
Doodle had brought some crunchy red and green apples that he had been given by the farmer at the other end of Wiggleway Lane and Mango brought me a little bunch of daisies to brighten up the kitchen table. How kind they all are.  I put a spotted jug of freshly squeezed orange juice on the table and a pot of tea for Pearl, made with mint from my herb garden.  After eating our absolutely delicious breakfast, we were ready to start work in the garden.  Doodle, Mango and Pearl all jumped into my red wheelbarrow, I gave them their tools and I pushed them all to my vegetable garden where we spent a very happy morning weeding, planting new seeds, raking earth, collecting fallen leaves and gathering a whole basket of ripe vegetables.  I do so love the simple pleasure of working in my garden and it makes it all so much more special to share it with my friends. I am very blessed to have such wonderful helpers, and this evening, to say thank you to them, I will cook them a lovely healthy meal full of my home grown rainbow coloured vegetables.
