Here I am looking very proud to have made another new friend. This kind man was called Francesco after Saint Francis of Assisi, in fact he was born just down the road from this place which is called the Hermitage. ( I must tell you that I did not believe he was really named after Saint Francis, but he was !!) It is where Saint Francis came to pray and to find peace . This nice man has worked here, just outside the Hermitage gates with his gift shop and café for 50 years and he seemed to enjoy meeting me .
Oh how blessed I am to have met so many new friends in Assisi and guess what ? Not one of them abducted me . I felt very safe and protected all of the time in this friendly country. Love from Sherbetx

Oh how Sherbet loves Saint Francis
Oh my dear Saint Francis . How I love him. Here he is with some of his birds. Oh how he loved all the little creatures and all the big creatures and all the creations of nature surrounding him as he walked for kilometres and kilometres and then even more kilometres up hills and down into valleys and then up hills again until he found his perfect places to sit quietly and pray. ( phew what a long sentence ! )
You can see that I have a look of pure bliss and adoration on my face as I am cuddling up to him . He does look rather small here compared to me, but he is in truth hugely wonderful with a huge heart and huge soul so just because he looks a little bit little here, it does not reflect who he really is does it ?

Sherbet is resting next to St Francis
I know that he would not mind me being here, snuggled up next to him as he did love all the creatures of the world and surely that must include sheep even ones called Sherbet.
I have had a truly delightful afternoon here with the light streaming through the trees and dappling my wool with bright white splodges. I found my own special places in the wooded slopes and pathways where I know for sure that the feet and sandals of Saint Francis have also walked . I sat in my own quiet meditation and said a few little prayers to my favourite Saint. I know he was listening to me and I am sure he is very good at answering prayers . Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet gives thanks to Saint Francis
Hello again dear dear friends from nearby and far far away .
I must let you all know that I finally found my way out of the forest . I had climbed a very tall tree to take a look inside a blackbird's nest and while I was there, even though I was a little bit entangled in the dense leaves and branches, I was able to look way into the distance. Guess what I saw peeping out from behind a group of rolling hills?
YES, it was Clover Cottage ! Thank goodness I had finally seen which direction to walk in.
Anyway I was very grateful to be home and to see that all was well in my garden.
Today I have come to visit this little statue of my favourite Saint in the whole wide world, Saint Francis of Assisi.
. I came to give thanks to him for taking care of all the little creatures in my garden while I was away lost in the forest.
My hedgehogs, my frogs, my caterpillars, my snails and my birds are all healthy and happy and I am very grateful for that.
