Sherbet has good news about the mystery sheep

Hello everyone, Do you remember I told you about the mystery sheep that I found in my garden?
Well, she has been staying with me for a few days as she seemed to be a little lost sheep. She has been having a wonderful time leaping about in the daisies here in my garden at Clover Cottage and she has certainly enjoyed sharing Pearl's delicious home made jam and scrumptious bread with me, she has not been the least bit worried.  She is very young.  I have asked my sheep friends from far far away if they were missing a sheep but she did not seem to be missed by anyone. I decided to ask the farmer at Greengate farm if he knew her. Good news came today.  He has just told me that a little sheep has been missing from another farm all the way over the other side of the hills, far away from Wiggleway Lane. Oh my goodness, no wonder she was so tired when she arrived here, she must have walked for ages. The farmer has kindly offered to take her back for me as she would not fit in my bicycle basket and there is only one seat on my bike. This afternoon I will say goodbye to her, I will miss her as she was very nice company but I am so happy for her that she is not lost anymore. Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet arrives home to Clover Cottage

Oh my goodness, it seems that I have been away such a long time. I had a really wonderful time staying with Kathy Cat. I did stay longer than intended as I do so enjoy her company. I was so very surprised to see all of the cats from Greengate Farm waiting for me by my kitchen door. Oh dear, that was very strange, they all looked so hungry and I saw that there  was no milk left in the hedgehog saucer ( Doodle had been feeding the hedgehogs while I was away)  I could only imagine that the farmer at Greengate Farm was away too as the cats had not been fed. I do hope he is not unwell. When I take the cats back I will go and make sure that all is normal at the farm.  Pearl always says it is very important to be kind to our neighbours and the Farmer is my only neighbour in Wiggleway Lane so I am very happy to be a good friend to him. I must rush off now and search in my kitchen cupboard to give the cats some of my special, crunchy, rainbow coloured cat biscuits before I take them back to the farm. I am so happy to be back home and I am very excited that I will soon have some new clothes made especially for me by my dear, talented, kind friend Kathy cat.  Love from Sherbetx

The naughty cat is not so naughty

I was just sitting under my oak tree this morning, thinking about my dear friends Doodle, Pearl and Mango. It seems that I have not seen them all together for a while, so  today I will ask them all to share a delicious meal with me this evening. It will be something nice to look forward to.
I do love just sitting quietly under my tree, it is so quiet in my garden. I had just closed my eyes for 2 minutes and was deep in thought, when I heard a little purring sound close to my ear. I opened my eyes and there sat the naughty cat from the farm at the other end of Wiggleway Lane. The only thing was, that he did not look at all naughty this morning he only looked hungry so I asked him to come with me to my kitchen and I gave him some special  biscuits that I keep in my cupboard for my visitors and a saucer of milk that I usually keep for my hedghogs. After the not so naughty cat had eaten, he settled down to sleep on my kitchen rug. It was very nice to have his company for a little while this morning and I do hope he visits me again soon.

Sherbet gets help from the farmer's dog

I have asked  Pearl what I should do to stop the cats  from stealing the milk from my poor hungry hedgehogs. Pearl said I should borrow a dog from the farmer at the end of Wiggleway Lane as cats do not like dogs and when the dog sees the cats he will bark very loudly and frighten the cats away. What a good idea that is. I went to the farmer and asked him if I could borrow his biggest, friendliest dog with the biggest bark. Of course I need a very friendly dog for the hedgehogs to feel comfortable but I also need a big bark to scare the cats away.  The farmer said  I could choose from all of his dogs. He said he had too many and he was looking for good homes for them. I told him I just wanted to borrow one for a little while to scare the naughty cats away. I looked carefully at all the dogs and the biggest friendliest one I could see was called Billy. The farmer told me that yes indeed Billy had a great big bark so I put Billy on his lead and took him back to Clover Cottage. I promised the farmer that I would  take good care of him and bring him back when the cats had stopped stealing the milk. When I got back to my garden, I introduced Billy to all the little creatures that lived there so they would not be afraid of this big hairy dog. I left Billy sitting by the saucers of milk, on guard, keeping watch. Luckily he was very well trained and I told him to SIT and STAY and not to drink the milk. He was very obedient so I went back into my cottage to have my lunch. I am very happy that  Billy is helping me to keep the naughty cats away.

Sherbet and his friends visit a farm

Today, Mango, Pearl, Doodle and I went for a walk to the nearby farm at the end of Wiggleway Lane. It was lovely to be out in the fresh air especially for me as I have been resting in my cottage and I have missed being outside. I do try to go to work in my garden everyday, even when it is very cold. For our walk we made sure we had our waterproof boots on as we knew it would be muddy at the farm. As we turned into the farm gates we saw all the farm animals coming to greet us from the field that they lived in. There was a pig a bit like Pearl, a sheep a bit like me, a horse, a cow, a hen and my favourite type of dog, a friendly black and white sheep dog. We gave them some apples from my tree, they were so happy to see us. The farmer didn't let them come out of the field as they may get lost but we said hello to them and told them we would come again soon.
