Sherbet has found a strawberry in his garden

Oh dear I am very, very tired after working hard in my garden all day long.  You can see from my photo though that a sunbeam is landing on me, to give me back some energy.I am pleased to tell you that I found one tiny, ripe strawberry waiting for me when I went out to water my plants this morning . There it was peeping out at me from under a big leaf. I know it will not make much of an impression in my fruit bowl,  but it is still a joy to be able to pick my own home grown strawberry however small it may be. It is almost as small as a wild strawberry and I know by now you must be thinking that I am talking far too much about my one strawberry but you see,  it is the little things in life that are the most joyful to me . And this strawberry is most certainly little!!

Sherbet has a mystery to solve

Dear friends,
Here is a photo from my recent trip to Assisi. I need a little bit of help.  Here I am sitting on some kind of press from the year 1676. It is a very long time ago and it has not even got woodworm !
Now then, I am not quite sure what this is for, I am thinking it must be for olives to make olive oil - is it for olives I wonder? I am just looking at it again.  What else could it be for ?  Grapes are too squishy and too messy to put in there.  I can see the stone bowl underneath that can catch a liquid or an oil and then I see the groove in the stone where the liquid can run out of the bowl into another container but I cannot see how the olive oil would come out of the wooden blocks after being squashed in the middle of them.  I am very sure it is not for freshly squeezed orange or lemon juice!!  I do hope it is not a torture machine to get juice from humans .
Can anybody tell me as I am only a sheep and I am not used to making my own olive oil with a press from 1676!

Sherbet is a busy sheep.

HAPPY SUNDAY to all of my dear friends both nearby and far far away. I am being a bit of a hermit lately as I am a very busy Sherbet Sheep - even on Sundays when I should be resting, meditating or hanging around in walls like I was doing here in this photo from Assisi.  I must say though that I had lots of fun yesterday evening, pulling all the long strands of brown dead grass from some huge clumps of lemon grass growing here in my garden at Clover Cottage. What a joy to see it all just green again. I do so love to put lemon grass in my herb teas. Well dear friends as I must get on with my day, I will stop writing now. I just want you all to know that I am missing you and thinking of you all.

Sherbet loves healthy herbs

Oh what a busy Sherbet sheep I am , I must tell you all that when you do not see me here for a while it means that I am very, very busy and do not even have time to think of writing my stories. I have missed you all though, my dear friends from nearby and far far away.  As you can see I am here now sitting in my garden at Clover Cottage. It has been raining here very heavily which I am happy about as my garden has sprouted lots of new leaves and my plants and herbs have revived in a most miraculous way. I have been eating lots of herbs lately. I love to pick huge bunches of them to put in my omelette every morning. Oh what fun it is to go out into my garden in the early morning sunshine and come back into my cosy kitchen with a huge bunch of mixed herbs,  I have  Rosemary. Tarragon, 2 types of Thyme , 3 types of Basil,  a minty thing that is very minty but not just normal mint , Rucola and Marjoram. I chop them all up together with some spring onions for my omelette which by the way  turns a delightful shade of green when loaded down with all of those herbs.
I was a little bit worried that they may taste bitter in my omelette but they did not , they just taste herby !
Herbs are very good for me and I want to plant more and more and more again. I want them to grow into great big bushes  so that I never run out of them.

Happy Christening day to Princess Charlotte

I just wanted to say Happy Christening day to my dear friend Princess Charlotte, who is the new baby sister of my other dear friend Prince George.
How wonderful to see them strolling along to the church on the Queen's Sandringham Estate. in the beautiful county of Norfolk in England . A nice quiet family occasion.
As you can see from my photos below,  I am waiting patiently at the gates of Anmer Hall near Sandringham for them to return.
This is the new home of Princess Charlotte and Prince George and their parents  Kate and William.
I must tell you a naughty secret though .  I am not really sitting there right this minute as these photos were taken before the lane leading up to the hall was blocked off. It was during the time when renovations were taking place for the young family to live in and I crept in and had my photos taken there right by the gate .
I am afraid that now I will only be able to go in and see my friends when they send me a special invitation to a tea party.

Happy Birthday to Sheila Sheep

Happy Birthday to my dear friend Sheila Sheep, I am just having a scrumptious, fruity drink to celebrate her special day. I am sorry I cannot be with her to share memories of when we were just little lambs together but as you can see, I am far far away from Clover Cottage at this moment.
