Sherbet has a very important message about his soul

Today dear friends from nearby and far far away I have a very important message .
As you know I have a very wonderful friend called Pearl Pig and she is very, very wise indeed.
Pearl has taught me lots of very valuable lessons and this morning she came to my kitchen door holding one of her scrumptious home baked loaves full of delicious grains and seeds, just as I like it and guess what she told me?
Pearl, my very wise and clever friend told me that,
I SHOULD BEGIN TO SEE MYSELF AS A SOUL WITH A BODY RATHER THAN A BODY WITH A SOUL .
Now I thought that was very important news indeed so I have written it in big letters.
Every day from now on I am going to take her advice and begin to see myself as a soul with a Sherbet Sheep body rather than a Sherbet Sheep body with a soul . I know this will make a great difference in my life and make me a much better sheep living as I am on this planet called Earth! Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet has been staying at Pearl's house

Happy rainbow coloured blessings to all of my dear friends both nearby and far far away.
I have been staying at Pearl's house for the last few days.
I do so love riding my bike all the way along Wiggleway Lane even though at the moment there are so many puddles.  I must tell you that I secretly love riding straight through the middle of the puddles. What fun I have making the water spray up from  my wheels on both sides. Thank goodness I have my lovely waterproof rubber boots to stop muddy splashy spots from making splodges on my legs.
I do so love staying at Pearl's house  because as you all know she makes the most wonderful homemade bread full of seeds and crunchy bits and her scrumptious fruit pies are always such a delight to behold. Well as you can hear I have had a lovely cosy time with Pearl but now I have to get back to work in my garden. I see my herb garden needs lots of weeding so that is what I am going to do today. Pearl welcomes Sherbet home with a delicious apple pie

Oh how lovely.  This morning there was a knock on my kitchen door and when I opened it, Pearl walked in bringing with her a delicious, warm, home made apple pie. It was wrapped in a lovely piece of cream coloured linen and had the most delectable smell you could ever imagine. How kind Pearl is. She told me it was a welcome home present. She had been very worried about me,  I am not away from Clover Cottage very often except when I go on my adventures to the seaside or to visit Kathy cat. I am hoping though to go on a very exciting adventure to a foreign country maybe next month, it is a secret at the moment but if I do I will show you my holiday photos. For now I am very content to be settled back into my cosy kitchen where I can sit at my table and enjoy sharing my delicious apple pie gift with my very dear friends, Pearl, Doodle and Mango. I will just run over to invite Mango now, I am sure he is in his watering can at this very moment preparing a cheese and breadcrumbs breakfast for the blackbirds that live in the trees above him. Goodbye for now, I do wish you could all taste Pearl's magnificent pie with me, it truly is a delight!  Love from Sherbetx

Pearl has a little holiday in Sherbet's garden

Good morning and  rainbow coloured blessings to all of my friends both nearby and far far away.  I had a lovely surprise this morning.  Pearl knocked on my door very early just as I was finishing my breakfast.  She had a huge smile on her face and looked happy, happy, happy !
I was so surprised to see her as I thought she was busy at her  roadside stall.  She told me that she felt like having a little holiday today in my garden. Pearl does so love to be in my garden as she is very fond of my delightfully perfumed flowers in all the colours of the rainbow.
I told her she is very welcome as always and made her a lovely cup of hot mint tea and gave her a piece of my special homemade banana bread.
We sat together and chatted for a little while but she didn't stay long at my kitchen table, as she could not wait to run into my garden and surround herself  with the wonderful flowers and the birds and the butterflies that live there.  I'm afraid I could not join her as I wanted to stay quietly in my house today and read some wise words from my books.  Pearl has always told me that reading is good for me and it will make me a better wiser  Sherbet Sheep.  I always listen to Pearl's advice as she is very wise indeed !  Love from Sherbetx

Pearl brings Sherbet warm crusty homemade bread.

Oh what a lovely sunny morning we have today!
I woke up bright and early and I was just enjoying a delicious breakfast of porridge with some delectable strawberries on top, when there was a knock on my kitchen door and there stood Pearl with her basket filled with freshly baked bread rolls.  Oh what Scrumptious yummyness!!  What a wonderful aroma to greet me first thing in the morning.
She came in, sat at my kitchen table and we shared the delicious, crusty bread.  I must admit I already had a bit of a full tummy with my porridge but I just could not resist that warm bread!  How blessed I am to have Pearl bringing me delicious warm bread and how blessed I am to have healthy thriving strawberry plants in my garden that give me strawberries to put on my porridge.  What an absolute delight to see those little red berries peeping out from under their leaves.  Isn't it wonderful how we can grow scrumptious things in our gardens.  Oh what joy!  Love and rainbow coloured blessings to you all.  Sherbetx

Sherbet makes a new strawberry patch

Oh what a beautiful morning.  Oh what a lovely blue sky.  Oh what  a perfect light, cooling  breeze.  Oh what harmonious sounds filling the air all around me . Ahh, I feel so lucky to be alive and so blessed to be living here at Clover Cottage with my amazing garden to relax in.
Yes,  I know I said relax but in fact I have a little bit of work to do in my  garden.  I am making a new strawberry  patch.  I have  to dig up a little corner of my garden not far from my oak tree, pick out all the stones and smooth down the soil again, then I will surround it with big rocks to make it look like a special little area.  I have lots of new strawberry plants from the garden shop in the village and I will plant them and care for them and wait patiently for them to make lovely big juicy strawberries.
Yes, I know what you are all thinking!  It is true, - you are reading my mind. When the strawberries are ripe I will give a whole basket full to Pearl and she will make lots of jars of delicious strawberry jam.  I wish you could all come and share it with me, Pearl makes the best jam in the whole wide world.  Love from Sherbetx

Pearl bakes a delicious carrot cake

Yummy, Pearl is coming to Clover Cottage this morning to make me a delicious carrot cake.
I have picked a basket full of fresh, juicy carrots from my garden and they are patiently waiting on my kitchen table for Pearl to arrive. Mango will come to help us, he loves to help when Pearl bakes cakes. While Pearl prepares the other ingredients, I will peel the carrots and Mango will grate them.  I am a little worried about Mango's delicate little hands, in case they get caught in the grater but he really wants to do it so I will just watch him carefully and have a box of plasters nearby just in case. I just cannot wait to smell that scrumptious cake as Pearl takes it out of the oven, I will invite Doodle over too today.  I hope he can take time away from his art studio to join us as it is so lovely to be able to share slices of warm delicious carrot cake with all of my friends. If we have any carrots left over, I will mix them with apples from my tree and make some really special carrot and apple juice. Oh, I am really looking forward to all of these wonderful treats today. I do wish you could all join us in the scrumptiousness that we have in store at Clover Cottage.  Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet has two pieces of good news.

Oh what a beautiful day it is today. Just the right amount of breeze and the right amount of sun and the right amount of rainbow coloured happiness in the atmosphere around Clover Cottage.  I have two pieces of good news today. First, when I went out to inspect my garden for naughty caterpillars this morning, they had all disappeared! What a relief that I do not have to worry about them anymore. The second piece of good news is that my strawberry plant had made it's very first ripe, red strawberry. I picked it and ate it very slowly, delighting in it's deliciousness. I see that there is another strawberry not far behind that one and I am so looking forward to it ripening so that I can have one more strawberry.  The weather has been just perfect lately and there has been just the right amount of rain to water my garden. I do hope it continues that way, it helps my strawberries to grow, soon there will be enough to give to Pearl for a new batch of strawberry jam. Yummy, I can just picture it now, toast, butter and home made strawberry jam for breakfast.  I am so blessed to have such wonderful jam to look forward to and I am blessed also to have a wonderful friend like Pearl to make it for me.  Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet is delighted to share his breakfast with visitors

Well, usually as you know it is very quiet here at Clover Cottage, not a sound except for my birds, my frogs, my crunchy leaves underfoot, the distant sound of lambs and cows in the fields at Greengate farm and the slurping of the hedgehogs as they drink their milk. But this morning I woke to a big noise outside, I opened my kitchen door to have a look and there was a motor scooter parking outside my gate. It seemed that I had visitors. A happy faced dog and his little cat friend came walking up my garden path. They said they had been this way before and they wanted to visit the famous Sherbet Sheep while they were here. How delightful!  I do love to have someone to share my breakfast with. I invited them both in, sat them at my kitchen table and made them some toast (made from Pearl's delicious home made bread)  with some strawberry jam also made by Pearl. I am very lucky to always have an abundant supply of scrumptious jam and bread from my dear friend. I did not have any freshly squeezed orange juice this morning but I did make a lovely hot pot of mint tea made with mint from my herb garden. I chatted with my new friends for several hours before waving them goodbye at my garden gate. They were such nice company that I was a  little sad to watch them ride away along Wiggleway Lane. I do hope they visit again soon .

Pearl makes a delectable cake for Sherbet

This morning Pearl came to help me in my garden. I always look forward to Pearl's visits as she has the wonderfully scrumptious habit of bringing me some kind of newly baked yummy thing. Today she walked into my kitchen carrying her basket and as usual a delightful aroma came in with her. It filled my kitchen with warmth and deliciousness.
She unwrapped the cloth that held the treat, and put a very delectable looking chocolate and coconut cake on my kitchen table. Oh what a delightful sight it was, it is a long time since I have had the great pleasure of eating some of Pearl's home made cake.
As I had already had my breakfast, I told her that after we had finished our work, we would also invite Doodle and Mango to come and share the cake with us. It always feels special to share yummy things with my best friends.
Pearl and I spent a lovey morning in my garden.  Pearl especially loves the flowers, she is really so happy when she can spend time weeding around my rainbow coloured blossoms. Oh, what a lovely delightful word!  BLOSSOMS, BLOSSOMS, BLOSSOMS !!
She also loves, like me, to be close to all the little creatures that she finds living in the flowers.
Well, that is my little story for today, I cannot wait to eat some cake . Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet enjoys working in his garden with his friends

I woke up to a lovely sunny morning with the birds singing sweetly in my ears.
I was still half asleep though when I suddenly remembered that I had asked Doodle, Pearl and Mango to come to help me with my garden tasks today.  I had asked them to have breakfast with me this morning too and I knew they could be here any minute, so I jumped up quickly and rushed into my kitchen to start putting out things on my kitchen table.  Just as I was reaching into my cupboard for my jar of Pearl's homemade blackberry jam, there was a knock on the door and in came my dear friends. Yummy! I smelled the delightful aroma of freshly baked bread as they walked in.  Pearl was carrying in her basket a delicious wholemeal loaf that she had made to my very favourite recipe. It had sunflower seeds and sesame seeds in it. Oh how absolutely scrumptious,  I just could not wait to eat it.
Doodle had brought some crunchy red and green apples that he had been given by the farmer at the other end of Wiggleway Lane and Mango brought me a little bunch of daisies to brighten up the kitchen table. How kind they all are.  I put a spotted jug of freshly squeezed orange juice on the table and a pot of tea for Pearl, made with mint from my herb garden.  After eating our absolutely delicious breakfast, we were ready to start work in the garden.  Doodle, Mango and Pearl all jumped into my red wheelbarrow, I gave them their tools and I pushed them all to my vegetable garden where we spent a very happy morning weeding, planting new seeds, raking earth, collecting fallen leaves and gathering a whole basket of ripe vegetables.  I do so love the simple pleasure of working in my garden and it makes it all so much more special to share it with my friends. I am very blessed to have such wonderful helpers, and this evening, to say thank you to them, I will cook them a lovely healthy meal full of my home grown rainbow coloured vegetables.

Sherbet is so grateful for his home grown lettuce

Oh how lovely it was to share a meal with my dear friends Doodle, Mango and Pearl yesterday evening.  I picked my best salad leaves from my vegetable garden to make sure we had a delicious healthy meal. I am so grateful and happy that I have such a wonderful variety of lettuce in my garden, I have red lettuce, curly lettuce, dark green lettuce, light green lettuce, lettuce with long wiggly leaves, lettuce with short round leaves and  lettuce with raggedy looking leaves. They are all so tasty, some have a peppery taste, they are Doodle's favourite but Pearl says she only likes them mixed in with the other leaves.
We were very lucky also to have some delicious big red ripe tomatoes straight from my garden vine and one juicy cucumber.  I was sorry to have to take away some of the shelter from my caterpillars but I know they will understand.  Before my friends arrived, I was so excited that I waited at my front door to wait for them and to welcome them to Clover Cottage. I am very blessed to have such wonderful friends.

Doodle's drawing lesson in Sherbet's garden

Oh what a wonderful day it is today.  I woke up very early, eager to start the day and as I  sat  at my kitchen table eating my scrumptious breakfast, I felt very excited as I knew that at any moment Pearl, Doodle and Mango would knock on my door ready to share a very creative day with me.  Last week  Pearl had thought of a very good idea.  She asked  Doodle if he would  teach us all to draw. Well you see, Doodle Dog is very talented  indeed and he loves to share his rainbow coloured ideas with everyone he meets. At half past eight exactly my dear friends arrived at Clover Cottage and our amazing day was ready to begin.

First of all though, I needed a little help with a few garden tasks, so Mango, Doodle and Pearl  jumped into my wheelbarrow clutching their garden tools, and I pushed them all, bumping them along, to my vegetable garden, where we weeded, dug and planted until there was just no more to do at all.  I then pushed them all back to the front of Clover Cottage where they jumped out of the wheelbarrow and then the fun began !

Doodle had brought along lots of pencils, paint brushes and  crayons and some sketch pads and we all sat down on my green, crunchy grass, which luckily felt lovely and dry.  Doodle asked me to stand up and be his model, while Pearl and Mango watched the lesson carefully.
I felt a little embarrassed at first and my cheeks blushed a little, to an even deeper shade of pink than they were already. Everyone said how handsome I looked so I soon found my courage and stood proudly under the oak tree to have my picture drawn. All the little creatures in my garden gathered around. The hedgehogs had stopped drinking  from their saucer of milk to join the group, the frogs had stopped croaking and hopped over to sit next to Mango, the butterflies fluttered around my head giving me more confidence and the caterpillars left the shelter of their cabbage leaves to watch.  We were all settling down into our nice, comfy, grassy seats, all except me of course, as I was the honoured chosen model!  All was quiet as we waited expectantly for Doodle to start drawing.

You will never guess what happened next. All of a sudden there was a loud creak and a scary, cracking noise from the branches of the oak tree, we all looked up and were shocked to see a  whole nest full of baby blackbirds tumbling down from the tree. I acted very quickly and just caught them in time before they fell to the ground. Oh dear, what a surprise! There I was, standing in front of my audience, holding a very prickly nest of chirping birds. I have never in my life known such a thing.  How wonderful I thought, to have been able to save these lovely little creatures from a very nasty fall indeed.  We then all heard a loud, cheery cheeping sound coming from the sky and we looked up again to see the very relieved mother blackbird  diving around in the air with joy.  She had an expression of pure gratitude on her face, she was smiling so much that her beak was curled up at the edges. I invited her to join us in our drawing class. She said yes, she would be delighted to sit on the grass next to all the other little creatures and watch the lesson. At that point Doodle had a brilliant idea.  He asked the mother blackbird if she would mind if  her baby birds could be in the picture with me. She agreed, filled with pride as her babies had never been drawn before. I stood in my place holding the birds nest very, very carefully while Doodle showed us all how to draw. After a little while he held up a beautiful sketch of me and the nest of baby birds.

We all clapped in delight at the clever picture and even though we all knew we cannot draw as well as Doodle, it inspired us all to go home and draw, with the rainbow coloured crayons Doodle had given us.
Mango especially, was so eager to make a drawing of his plate of cheese that he had left on his window sill, that he rushed home to his red watering can at full speed and leaped in the top, disappeared inside and  did not appear again until he had finished his drawing!

Oh what a simply delightful day we all had together. I am so happy to have taken part in Doodle's drawing lesson and I am truly grateful that I was able to save the little birds from danger. I have promised the mother blackbird, that tomorrow, I will climb up my wooden ladder and put the nest with her precious babies in, back among the oak tree branches where they belong, so that they can grow stronger in complete peace and happiness until they are ready to fly.  I do so hope they stay and make their homes here at Clover Cottage where they will be most welcome to join all the other little creatures in my garden.
Love from Sherbet x

Oh,  it is so very very exciting. Today I am going to appear on the sheep blog of my special sheep friends who live far far away. It is called  My Favourite Sheep.  My sheep friends from far far away live at Punkin's Patch.  B. Willard is going to tell all his sheep friends about the delightful day I had today taking part in Doodle's drawing lesson. I do hope they like it.  I felt very flattered to be asked and my cheeks turned even pinker !

Snow and apple pie

This morning I felt like going for a lovely walk along Wiggleway Lane. I asked Mango and Doodle to go with me as the air was fresh and clean and I thought it would do us all good to breathe in some lovely fresh air. Pearl was too busy baking apple pies to come with us but as we are all looking forward to tasting the scrumptious pies, we did not mind that she was not there to enjoy the walk with us. It was a very quiet, cold day, there were no birds singing in the trees and no bees buzzing and no frogs croaking. We walked in silence just enjoying the peace. We were just passing the farm which seemed deserted, as all of the animals were resting in their cosy barns and stables, when it started to snow. We were all so surprised to see how quickly the snow flakes were settling on our heads. Poor, little, shivering Mango.  I picked him up quickly and tucked him into my wool and we all hurried back to Clover Cottage where Doodle made us all mugs of delicious hot chocolate. We soon warmed up and a little while later there was a knock on the door and when I opened it, there stood Pearl holding two lovely apple pies.  How lovely, we were now all together and spent a lovely, cosy morning enjoying each others company and eating warm apple pie.

Sherbet is well again and loves Doodle Dog's snowflake painting

Here I am, all well again. I am so grateful to Pearl and Mango for looking after me while I was not feeling well. I am so lucky to have such good, kind friends in my life.
Doodle painted a lovely picture of snowflakes yesterday and he gave it to me as a get well present. Mango made me a little card and inside he wrote  PLEASE GET WELL SOON. Mango, Doodle and Pearl are all very thoughtful and caring and I know I am very blessed to have them in my life.

Sherbet is not very well, so Pearl looks after him

Hello everyone, this is Pearl. Sherbet is not very well today so I have told him to stay in bed all day and I will look after him. I will make him a big healthy soup full of vegetables from his garden. Mango is also here with me helping to do little tasks around the home. We have picked some flowers and put them in a vase in Sherbet's bedroom to cheer him up. I hope he is feeling better tomorrow.

A visit to Doodle's art studio

Today Pearl, Mango and I visited Doodle in his art studio. It was so exciting. He has so many interesting things to see there. He has tadpoles in a jar, painted stones, a book about frogs and a book about painting. The thing we loved best of all though was that he showed us how to paint a big pot. He said we should use our imagination and that there were no rules and we could paint anything we liked on it. Doodle painted big insects on his pot, I painted big spots on my pot, Pearl painted flowers on her pot and  Mango painted leaves on his pot. It was so much fun and we were all very proud of our lovely colourful pots . Doodle said we should all keep them in my garden and grow flowers in them.  We all thought that was a great idea. I am so proud to have a wonderful, creative friend like Doodle.

Pearl my wise friend gives me advice

My dear, wise friend Pearl has advised me to make a separate little lettuce patch especially for the slugs to live in. I will ask Doodle to construct me a special wooden box where the slugs can live happily with their very own lettuce.
