Oh how Sherbet loves Saint Francis

Oh my dear Saint Francis . How I love him. Here he is with some of his birds.  Oh how he loved all the little creatures and all the big creatures and all the creations of nature surrounding him as he walked for kilometres and kilometres and then even more kilometres up hills and down into valleys and then up hills again until he found his perfect places to sit quietly and pray. ( phew what a long sentence ! )
You can see that I have a look of pure bliss and adoration on my face as I am cuddling up to him . He does look rather small  here compared to me, but he is in truth hugely wonderful  with a huge heart and huge soul so just because he looks a little bit little here, it  does not reflect who he really is does it ?

Sherbet sends blessings to all the creatures in the world

I just want to say that as well as being so grateful for all of my friends in the whole world I am also very grateful that our big wonderful planet Earth has so many amazing animals and creatures in so many varieties and sizes from extra huge to big to medium to small to tiny and to extra tiny and to extra, extra tiny and to even tinier than that so that we cannot even see them .  I want to send all of the creatures in the whole wide world millions of rainbow coloured blessings to keep them all safe and happy. Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet gets help from the farmer's dog

I have asked  Pearl what I should do to stop the cats  from stealing the milk from my poor hungry hedgehogs. Pearl said I should borrow a dog from the farmer at the end of Wiggleway Lane as cats do not like dogs and when the dog sees the cats he will bark very loudly and frighten the cats away. What a good idea that is. I went to the farmer and asked him if I could borrow his biggest, friendliest dog with the biggest bark. Of course I need a very friendly dog for the hedgehogs to feel comfortable but I also need a big bark to scare the cats away.  The farmer said  I could choose from all of his dogs. He said he had too many and he was looking for good homes for them. I told him I just wanted to borrow one for a little while to scare the naughty cats away. I looked carefully at all the dogs and the biggest friendliest one I could see was called Billy. The farmer told me that yes indeed Billy had a great big bark so I put Billy on his lead and took him back to Clover Cottage. I promised the farmer that I would  take good care of him and bring him back when the cats had stopped stealing the milk. When I got back to my garden, I introduced Billy to all the little creatures that lived there so they would not be afraid of this big hairy dog. I left Billy sitting by the saucers of milk, on guard, keeping watch. Luckily he was very well trained and I told him to SIT and STAY and not to drink the milk. He was very obedient so I went back into my cottage to have my lunch. I am very happy that  Billy is helping me to keep the naughty cats away.

Sherbet gets a message in his head like in a dream

Oh I feel wonderful today. Let me tell you what happened. I was laying in bed this morning just resting sleepily when all of a sudden a whole string of words came into my head. It was like a dream but it wasn't quite a dream, it was a message in my head almost as though it had come from another world, a wonderful, perfect world. They were lovely, wise, compassionate words. I had to lay very still as I tried to remember the message. I wrote it down in the notebook by my bed. Here is the message.

MAY ALL BEINGS BE HAPPY.  MAY ALL MY THOUGHTS, WORDS AND ACTIONS CONTRIBUTE IN SOME WAY TO THE HAPPINESS OF ALL BEINGS.

Now isn't that wonderful? I invited Pearl, Doodle and Mango to sit in my garden with me today and we all learnt it carefully and slowly like a poem so that we can keep the words in our hearts and try to be as good
as we can be. I explained to them that as well as human beings, all the creatures around us are also beings, so we have to always be aware to make all the big and little creatures happy too as well as humans. I am so glad I received that message this morning it reminded me to be an even kinder Sherbet than I already try to be.

Sherbet rescues a dragonfly from a naughty black and white cat!

Oh how strange to wake up this morning without seeing my dear friend Reginald Rabbit. I have to get used to being here alone again. Please don't worry about me though as I am quite content living alone. I am happy to have the space to do all the things I like to do all day long but I also love being in the company of my good friends. I have just rescued a dragonfly. It must have come from my garden pond. I heard it buzzing around near the tomato plants and saw that a naughty black and white cat was trying to catch it. I have never seen that cat before but as it had a collar on with a tinkly bell on it I think it must live on the farm at the end of Wiggleway Lane. I know there are lots of cats living there. I will take it back to the farm this morning. I hope it doesn't mind riding in my bicycle basket. I will try not to ride over the bumps in the lane. I do love helping all the little creatures around me.

Mango is a very kind mouse!

This morning Mango was a very kind mouse, he helped me to pick 6 lovely ripe, red apples from my tree. He was very brave because he climbed the tree and balanced on the branches to pick the apples . He threw them down to me,I caught them and then placed them gently into my basket, taking care not to bruise them. I did see that some apples had already fallen onto the grass but I decided to leave them for the little creatures in my garden to enjoy.

Mango was very tired after picking the apples so I put him in my bicycle basket and we rode to Pearls cottage with the 6 juicy apples. Pearl will bake us all a special blackberry and apple pie this evening  Yummy! I can't wait. She has all the ingredients now. I am very thankful for Mango's kindness and his help in picking the apples.

Doodle makes a lovely big box for Sherbet's slugs

My clever friend Doodle has made me a lovely big box and has filled it with earth for me and put it in a far corner of my garden. Last night I collected all the slugs. I did get slime on my wool which was hard to wash off but I didn't mind as I was helping them to prepare  for their new home. I let them stay in a big bucket overnight making sure they had plenty to eat and this morning after transplanting some lettuce to their new box I put them in and they are so happy now. It feels so good to help the little creatures in my garden.
