The lost reindeer.

Happy Sunday dear friends,
This reindeer is going home. He has spent 2 nights here at Clover Cottage after finding himself lost on Christmas eve.
He told me that he was flying through the sky with the other reindeer when a big puff of cloud blew him away and he could not see through the fog. When the cloud lifted he could no longer see Santa and his reindeer friends and so he dropped down into my garden where I found him looking lost and lonely under my big oak tree.
It was wonderful to have him here as my Christmas guest.  I hope he drops in again next year. Love Sherbetx

Sherbet is checking on his blackbirds

Happy Sunday to all of my wonderful, loyal, smiley friends from nearby and far far away.
Here I am sitting in my oak tree.  I was checking to make sure my blackbirds are warm enough in their nests.  You will be glad to know that all is well,  they are very snug , snug as a bug in rug,  so I am not worried about them anymore.  This is just a quick hello as I have promised to  have a snowball fight with Mango in 5 minutes time.  Bye for now.   I must climb down from this tree, very carefully indeed!
 Love from Sherbetx

A lovely red squirrel visits Sherbet's garden

This morning, even though it was very cold outside, I decided to go into my snowy garden to see if the snow had thawed out yet. I saw that it was looking almost the same as yesterday except for where we had rolled our snowballs to make our snowman family. As I was looking around my garden, I saw some little animal tracks and when I followed them I saw that I had a visitor. A lovely red squirrel was sitting in my garden on the snow. I am sure he must have been very cold but he was not shivering. I was happy to see though that he was eating an acorn that had fallen down from my oak tree.

I imagine it must be very difficult for him to find enough acorns with the trees all covered in snow so I took my ladder and my basket and I climbed the tree to collect lots of acorns for my new squirrel friend. I left the basket full of acorns for him under the oak tree so that he would have enough to eat for the next  few weeks. It makes me so happy to be able to care for all the little creatures in my garden.

Sherbet is so tired after working in his garden

Oh I am so tired. I spent all morning weeding and planting new seeds in my garden. But how lovely to spend time sitting on my grass with my friends this afternoon. Pearl made daisy chains, Doodle spent his time drawing the frogs on the pond and Mango went to sleep under the oak tree. I just sat happily watching the birds in the sky and feeling the sun on my face, it reminded me of being on holiday again with my old friend Sheila Sheep. I miss her and wish she could be here now to enjoy this time with us. I am very grateful to have such good friends in my life .
