Sherbet is sunbathing.

Ah, as you can see dear friends, I am sunbathing a little bit.
How lovely to sit here in this field with the sun on my face with nothing to do but just be.
I am just being. The only trouble is I can't be  a human be-ing,  I have to be a Sherbet be-ing  or a sheep be-ing.  Oh dear  that makes me sound a bit strange.  I think it is better to say that I am Sherbet Sheep and I am just being. That makes much more sense doesn't it ?
Meanwhile I have to be very careful sitting here in this hot sun because if I get pink ear tops and an even  pinker face I will have to use some of the gel from my aloe vera plant to soothe my sunburn and I don't really want to cut any of the plant off as I am trying to make it grow big.
I will just stay in the sun another 5 minutes and then I will go in the shade. That is the sensible thing to do.

Sherbet is relaxing today.

Dear friends from nearby and far far away.
Just a simple little story today .
Here I am sitting in my garden listening to the birds singing.
It rained a little bit this morning so I had to wait for my rocks to dry before I could sit on them.
It is very quiet here and I am relaxing in the warm, gentle breeze thinking of all the things I am grateful for.  The rain brings out the slugs that usually hide in my garden so I had check that there were no naughty slugs eating my lettuce. I am glad to tell you that all of my lettuce was safe !
I looked around the rest of my garden and picked one lone, tiny strawberry from my strawberry plant and saved it for later.
In a minute I am going to close my eyes here on my dry rock and meditate and drift away to an even quieter place.
I will see you all soon.

The naughty cat is drinking the hedgehogs milk.

Oh dear, that naughty cat from the farm next door has been drinking the milk I leave out for the hedgehogs again.
I do not know what to do because as you know I love all the little creatures on this planet and I want them all to be happy. The problem I have is that I want my hedgehogs to have enough milk to drink and not be faced with an empty bowl in the mornings. I know they are afraid of the cat as every time they peep out from under the bush and see him sitting there on my doorstep next to the bowl, they roll up in little  prickly balls to protect themselves from him. I must ask Doodle to invent something made of wood to keep the milk safe, maybe something only the hedgehogs can get into that is too small for the cat.  If anybody can give Doodle any ideas for a safe cat friendly/keep away naughty cat contraption then please let me know and I will tell him.
Awaiting your replies with your brilliant ideas .

Sherbet loves bamboo

Oh dear friends , I just wanted to say how I love bamboo. I love everything made of bamboo, bamboo floors , bamboo houses , bamboo chopping boards, bamboo plates , bamboo furniture, bamboo bird feeders, bamboo cups, bamboo everything. I just wish I could grow some of those amazing, big, tall thick green stalks of bamboo in my garden at  Clover Cottage.  I know they would make Clover Cottage look very tiny in comparison but Oh how wonderful it would be to hear them swaying and creaking in the wind at night .
It's Ok though I am still very happy and very grateful for my huge oak tree, it is a lovely old tree and a perfect home for my blackbird's nest.

Reginald Rabbit meets his brother Bill Rabbit in Heaven

My dear friends, I am writing this story especially for my dear cousin Stefani Sheep as the other day she told me something very wonderful indeed.
While Stefani was sitting quietly meditating with her frogs croaking in the background, she had a very comforting vision and this vision is also close to my heart. I will tell you why.
In her quiet and peaceful mind, Stefani travelled to the other world far above the clouds where her dearest friend, William  Rabbit ( better known as Bill Rabbit)  now lives.  How magnificent it was for her to see him again! She gave him an enormous hug. She had missed him so much as she had not seen him since she was just a young lamb. Then Reginald Rabbit, who is Bill's brother appeared too. As you all know Reginald Rabbit is my dearest friend in the whole world and he is no longer on this planet Earth either. Stefani loves Reginald Rabbit very much too and was so happy to see them and share warm, loving hugs with them both.
How wonderful that Reginald Rabbit has met his brother in the next world and they are living in bliss and blessings together .
Thank you Stefani Sheep, dear cousin from far far away for sharing your story with me

Sherbet is showing a picture of his forest friends

Dear friends from nearby and far far away.
Today I am feeling very grateful that I have such good friends in my life. Here is a  picture of my forest friends that live nearby in the woods, just over the hill at the other end of Wiggleway Lane.
I wish you all a very happy and safe day whatever you may be doing and whoever you may be with and wherever you may go.

Sherbet is feeling patriotic

I must be feeling patriotic today, I don't really know why,  it isn't the Queen of England's  birthday, a new King of England has not just been born, there are no garden parties at Buckingham palace to wear big hats to. Well, maybe I just felt like dressing up after wearing my gardening clothes all day. Yes that must be it !

Sherbet is looking wise today

As you can see dear friends, I am looking very wise in these glasses.
I am looking wise because I want to say something wise, something that makes good sense to me in my Sherbet Sheep life.
Pearl told me this wise thing and it is true so here it is.

TODAY'S DECISIONS ARE TOMORROW'S REALITIES

Pearl Pig, Sherbet's very wise friend

Dear Friends ,
Now, as I spoke to you all today about my dear little friend Mango Mouse, I think it is only fair that I send a picture too of my dear, wise friend Pearl Pig. Here she is at her home produce stall . I must tell you, even though I have told you many times before, that Pearl makes the most scrumptious fruit pies and the most delightful crusty, bread with the most tantalising aromas imaginable.  Ah I can just taste them now in my dreamy head and it is making me hungry.

Mango Mouse

Dear friends ,
I just realised that I have not spoken about my dear, little, helpful friend Mango Mouse  for quite a while.
He is still living in my garden at Clover Cottage in his red watering can and he still throws crumbs of his leftover bread and cheese onto the grass for the blackbirds.
Tomorrow on Easter Sunday I will make him a special healthy, rainbow coloured dinner full of fresh vegetables from my garden. It is no good trying to fatten him up or make him grow because he  just cannot change . He will always be little so I will just make sure that he eats healthy food and stays fit and well . Oh I have just remembered that I need to put a huge pile of cushions on my kitchen chair so that he can reach his mouse sized plate on the table. If I cannot find enough cushions I will  make a big pile with my wise words books and put a soft cushion on the top, yes maybe that is a better idea anyway, he will not wobble and fall off so easily.
Happy Easter everyone from Sherbet Sheep, Mango Mouse, Pearl Pig and Doodle Dog.
 With love of course x

Happy Easter from Sherbet Sheep sitting in a patch of daisies.

Happy Easter to all of my friends from nearby and far far away.
As you can see I am sitting here surrounded by beautiful little daisies. Oh how I love these simple little flowers.
I remember making daisy chains when I was just a little lamb. I would sit on the grass as I am doing now and I would make a little hole in the stalk of one daisy and then I would thread another daisy stalk through the hole, then I would do the same again and again and again until I had a long chain of daisies, when the chain was finished I would attach the 2 ends together and make a garland for my neck or my head . I always tried to pick daisies with the longest stalks. Some of you may think that it is a girly thing to do and I am boy but I don't see why boys should not enjoy and wear daisies too.
I am not sure if I can remember properly but I think there is a saying that if you can step on 3 daisies then Springtime has arrived. Well here I am sitting on hundreds of daisies in my garden at Clover Cottage so I do think Springtime has definitely arrived.

Sherbet has something important to say today

Today dear friends, I want to say something important.
This morning, while I was sitting quietly thinking of all the things good and bad that have happened to me in my life ( and yes even Sherbet Sheep has had some very sad times, hurtful times and worrisome times) I thought of something that I want to share with all of my sheep friends and all my human friends nearby and far far away. Here it is .

EVERYTHING THAT EVER  HAPPENED TO YOU WAS HAPPENING FOR YOU .

When I look back on my life I know that if the bad things had not happened, the good things that came after the bad things would not have been able to happen, so now I am so grateful for the bad things as well as the good things.
