Sherbet is grateful to be back in his cosy bed

Ah, how luxuriously cosy to be back in my own bed again after spending so many nights sleeping on leaves in my woodland hut.
I am so grateful to have this comfy bed but  I am so glad I spent time in the peace and quiet of the forest watching the birds. It was so wonderful just to be still and to live right there in the present moment with just the sounds of the little creatures snuffling about in the undergrowth and the leaves rustling in the wind. I did miss my kitchen and my vegetable garden but I had my wise words books with me and a very good wind up lamp which did not need electricity. What a wonderful invention for  an adventurous sheep like me and for anyone who likes to sleep in dark, lonely, forest huts under pitch black night skies with just twinkling stars and creepy crawly things for company!  Oh, now I am scaring myself so I am going to sleep.
 Goodnight  from me, Love Sherbetx

The rain has stopped in Sherbet's garden

Oh thank goodness, the rain has stopped and the birds are nice and dry. They are singing sweetly in the trees again.
My garden looks lovely and green. The rain has freshened everything up and the grass has a delicious, wet grassy smell. It smells almost good enough to eat, like fresh green peas.
That reminds me, I think I will go and make a delcious pea soup.

Rain, Rain, Rain

Rain, rain, rain.
Oh dear that means that the naughty slugs will come out of their hiding places and try to eat my spinach plants.
I do love it when it rains though, as it means I can sit peacefully in my cosy cottage  and read my wise words books. An added bonus is that I do not have to worry about watering my plants.
It makes me happy too, to see my frogs leaping about in joy  but I worry about the poor birds  I wonder where they go.
They must get very wet indeed and I am sure their nests cannot be very comfortable when they are all damp and cold.
If I could I would invite them all into my cottage until the rain passes but  as you know it is not easy to make birds stay still  long enough to ask them.
Maybe I will see a rainbow

Sherbet is feeling truly blessed

Ah, it is a little bit cooler today but the sun is still shining so I am making the most of the lovely weather and I am sitting out in my garden.  Oh how lovely to just sit here and relax.  The birds are singing all around my ears and  I can hear the hedgehogs rustling happily in the leaves around my compost heap.  I think I can even hear the naughty slugs munching on my lettuce!   Oh what a joy to be alive and to feel happy and  healthy and to have so many little creatures sharing my garden with me.  I am truly blessed and I am wishing that millions of true blessings fly through the air and reach all of my friends both nearby and far far away.  Love from Sherbetx

Mango brings Sherbet some delectable cherries

Rainbow coloured blessings to you all this fine morning.
I am sitting here on my kitchen doorstep listening to the delightful twittering and chirping of my birds as they play in the oak tree.   I must tell you that I have seen lots of newly built nests around my garden and I am so excited to think that new baby birds will be born soon.
I know though also that I have to watch very carefully in case any eggs or newly born babies fall out onto the grass.  I do so hope that doesn't happen as that would be very sad for me.  I am also a little afraid that the naughty cat from Greengate farm may come around to look for them.
Earlier this morning,  my dear little mouse friend Mango, who lives in the watering can in my garden, came to visit me.  What a kind loving little mouse he is!   He brought me 2 delicious cherries to have for my breakfast.  What a treat!  I do not have a cherry tree in my garden so I savoured every tiny little bite of those delectable cherries.  I have asked Mango to come to share my dinner with me this evening, he doesn't eat much as he is so tiny and he does not fit very well on my kitchen chairs, but I have a special little corner on my tablecloth where he can sit quite comfortably and enjoy his meal.  I am so blessed to have a sweet little friend like Mango living in my garden.

Sherbet is enjoying his garden today

Hello everyone. Rainbow coloured blessings to you all on this lovely sunny day.
I am just going to sit in my garden and enjoy my flowers today.   I am going to close my eyes and smell the perfume that is coming from them and I am going to open my ears and listen for all the lovely natural sounds, the bees buzzing, the birds tweeting, the wind blowing through the leaves on my trees and the frogs croaking ( if I am lucky)
As you can see, I am wearing my new clothes that Kathy cat made for me, that is because after I have enjoyed my garden, I am going to Doodle's home.   He has invited me to share a delicious healthy dinner with him this evening.  I am so looking forward to it as I have not seen Doodle for a long time, he has been so busy in his art studio.  I wish you all a very happy Saturday.  Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet's friends spend a day with him working in the garden

Today I woke up with lots of energy. I just leapt out of bed really early ready to work in my garden. The sun was shining down on Clover Cottage which put a big smile on my face. There was no snow, no rain, no wind, no fog, no mist, no hail, no grey sky, and it was not too cold, so what more could I ask for? I saw a little bit of dew sparkling on my grass and that was all. The birds were chirping happily in my oak tree, the worms were hiding in the soil trying to avoid being eaten for breakfast by the birds, the dragonflies were playing with the frogs in my pond and the hedgehogs were drinking their morning saucer of milk.  All was peaceful and perfect in my garden this morning. Doodle, Pearl and Mango arrived mid morning to help me with my tasks. I  put them all in my wheelbarrow, with my new garden tools and pushed them to my vegetable garden. They love riding in my wheelbarrow. They all felt happy and smiley too and were all ready to put in a hard days work. There were so many tasks to do. Doodle made some wigwam shapes out of bamboo sticks to help support the peas and beans.  Pearl dug the earth and raked it.  Mango picked out all the stones and put them in a pile and picked some vegetables for our evening meal and I cut the grass and did some weeding.

A very sad day for Sherbet

Today is 12th December 2011 and it is a very sad day for me. One year ago today I lost my very dear human friend Reg Clark. Reg helped me so much, he believed in me and watched me grow into the sheep I am today.  I am so blessed to have had him in my life. Reg loved the birds in his garden as I do. He loved to hear them sing, especially in the morning, he loved to feed them and to quietly watch them. Today I am holding one of my birds just for him. I miss him very much but he lives on in my heart. Thank you Reg for always being there for me.
