Sherbet receives a postcard from Paris

Oh what a lovely surprise I had this morning. The postman with the red van  brought me a postcard all the way from Paris. It was from Mango's Aunty Manu.
Aunty Manu told me that the weather in Paris was a little bit cold but the food at her local bistro was as delicious as ever and the market stalls I loved so much when I was there in October were still overflowing with the most scrumptious fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, herbs and of course lots of cheese, smelly cheese, mouldy cheese, yellow cheese, white cheese, orange cheese, crumbly cheese, hard cheese, melty cheese, herby cheese, peppery cheese and even blue cheese but it only has blue bits in it, it is not really blue of course.
 Oh I do miss Paris, it is my favourite city and I cannot wait to go and stay with Aunty Manu and her squeaky floorboards again

Sherbet is meditating

I am sitting quietly meditating.  My eyes are supposed to be closed but  I am sitting in the dark instead so I can't see anything anyway.  My mind is still and it feels blissful, like I am floating in the air.  It is the best place to be in the whole wide world even if it isn't the world that I am in when I am away up in the air like this !  When thoughts come into my head, I don't take any notice of them,  I just let them drift past and  I go back to my peaceful mind again.
 AHH, BLISS.

Ah ! Peace at last

Ah, peace at last.  Dylan dog has left to go back to his town house.  He popped in to have breakfast with his cousin Doodle on his way home and I do hope for Doodle's sake that he was not dancing all the way through breakfast!  I am sure he must be quite worn out after all of that action over the last few days      

I am here at Clover Cottage, enjoying a quiet breakfast all on my own with just the sounds of the birds singing in the trees outside. Oh what joy.  How wonderful to be here alone with my thoughts and how blessed I am to be living in this wonderful cottage with my amazing garden outside.

Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Oh Dear !!

Oh dear, Oh dear.  Now I have a house full of dancers !  Doodle's cousin, Dylan dog has invited some of his new friends from Greengate Farm to come and help him dance !  My peaceful cottage is full of the loudest music I have ever heard and I had planned to meditate quietly today to keep up my new year's resolution.  However,  Pearl always reminds me that we must constantly be the kindest and the most patient and the most giving and the most loving that we can possibly be.  I am  being very patient and letting them have their fun and when they all leave I know I will cherish my silence even more because of not being able to have my peace for a few days.  I am just going to sit in my garden under the oak tree and read while the dancing is going on in my cottage.  I am not really a dancer you see, I  am more of a gardener.  That is my true self and I must always be true to myself !   Love from Sherbetx

Sherbet has an unexpected guest

Oh dear.  You will never guess who I have staying with me here at Clover Cottage.  It is Doodle's cousin Dylan dog.  He lives in a town quite a distance from Wiggleway Lane and  is rather a different type of character to Doodle,  as cousins so often are.
 You see, Doodle is a very creative dog who lives a very quiet life and loves to be alone in his design studio where he works in silence most of the day (apart from the bird song and the sounds of nature all around  him.)   His cousin likes to play loud music and dance all day long and that really does not suit the peaceful atmosphere that Doodle needs for his work, so he has asked me if I would welcome Dylan to my home for a few days. Of course I said yes, even though I too lead a very peaceful life.
 I wondered whether I had made the right decision though when I awoke this morning to the sound of a big thumping drum beat vibrating the windows of my cottage. Oh my goodness that did feel a little alien for my quiet country life but I do like to help others when I can so I will put ear plugs into my  ears and  be a perfect host!   I will see you all again tomorrow. Please do wish me luck with my very lively guest!

Sherbet makes his new year resolutions

Here I am sitting in my garden having a really good think. I am thinking and thinking and thinking.   Maybe you are wondering what I am thinking about.   Well,  it is the start of  a brand new year and  Pearl told me that I am supposed to think of  some new new year resolutions so I am trying to think of some things that will make me a better Sherbet sheep.
 I know !  I will resolve to do more yoga and I will resolve to do my meditation twice a day as I know I should.   Ummm, what else.  Oh yes,  my next new year resolution is to not make any more new year resolutions.   I think I will just make sure I                                                              count my many blessings every single day and always, always feel gratitude for all the wonderful things I have in my life. Yes that's it.  So I will start right now by telling all of my dear friends both nearby and far far away how very grateful I am to have you all in my life and how very blessed I feel to be living on this planet earth at the same time as all of you. Thank you for reading my stories.   It is a joy to share them with you.

It is the first day of 2013

Happy first day of the new year of 2013 to my dear friends from nearby and far far away.
