Sherbet has been studying a woodpecker

 Today is my birthday and also the birthday of my dear friend Reginald Rabbit who now lives in a wonderful place far far away . I stop myself being sad about that because I know that at the same time he is here with me every day.
 I have been away for a long time.
 Oh how I have missed you all.  I have been living in the nearby forest studying the life of a very rarely seen spotted woodpecker.   Oh how I love that little woodpecker. I first saw him when he made a visit to the oak tree in my garden . When he flew away, I followed him to the forest at the end of Wiggleway Lane, to see where his nest was.
 I then went back again the next day and made a hidey hole hut.  I collected  fallen branches that had lots of leafy bits on them and started making my hut.  When it was cosy enough and waterproof enough and windproof enough and completely finished to the best of my ability, I went back to Clover Cottage to stock up with all the things I would need to survive for a few weeks alone in the forest. I loaded them all into the basket on my bike and rode back to my hut. Oh what an adventure it was.  I sat for hours and hours in silence waiting for the woodpecker to show up and when he did I was filled with delight!  I watched him and wrote notes about him and made lots of little drawings of him.  When night time came,  I was a little bit afraid sleeping in my hut all alone. It was very dark and I kept hearing an owl hooting nearby.  I told myself it was not a ghost and that made me braver.  Well  now I am back at Clover Cottage and enjoying my comfy bed and my cosy kitchen again.  I must say I will always visit my new woodpecker friend but at the same time I do so hope he visits me in  my garden again to spend time in my oak tree. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014 from Sherbet Sheep

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of my dear and loyal friends from nearby and far far away .
 I truly wish you all the most magnificent 2014 that you could ever imagine in your wildest dreams .
    Even if you don't  ever have wild dreams, I still hope that any kind of dreams you do have will all come true for you . It would be very wonderful indeed if those dreams could come true in 2014 but if they don't it just means that you have to be patient for just a little bit longer and when your dreams think you are ready to receive them , all of a sudden there they will be - all coming true just as you always wanted them to.  Love and huge hugs from Sherbetx

Ho Ho Ho from Sherbet Sheep

Ho Ho Ho,  What fun having a Xmas day. I must tell you that while I was fast asleep in my cosy bed,  Father Christmas came down my chimney at Clover Cottage and left some gifts for me. I am so glad I put my fire out before going to bed or I would have woken to the smell of burnt boots. Or to burnt hat and beard depending on which way down Santa came !  Anyway all was well and I am glad to tell you that I am not guilty of burning Father Christmas . I awoke to the sound of distant  reindeer bells so I knew Santa was safely on his way to all the other homes. So that is my Christmas story. Love from Sherbetx

Merry Christmas to all of my dear friends from nearby and far far away.

Sherbet has been out for a woodland picnic with his new friends

Ah, here I am at last.  I have been out for a very long bike ride into the woods with my new woodland friends.  Oh what fun we had.
We took a delicious picnic with us and sat on a lovely warm blanket under a huge oak tree  It was a little bit windy and a little bit cold and dusty leafy bits kept flying into my egg sandwich . I  must tell you though that I enjoyed myself very much indeed.  My foxy friend who is very wise, saved my life I am sure, as I wanted to pick some wild mushrooms to take home to put in my omelette. Foxy told me not to touch them as they may be poisonous !  Luckily I listened to him or I may not be alive today to tell this story !

Reginald Rabbit left this planet Earth 3 years ago today. Sherbet has written a poem for him

My dearest friend Reginald Rabbit left this planet 3 years ago today and I miss him very much.
 I think of him every day and I know he is always with me still. I have written a special poem for him . Here it is .

REGINALD RABBIT LEFT HIS HOME,   THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOME HE HAD EVER KNOWN,
HIS LOVED ONES KNEW IT WAS TIME TO GO,   BUT NOW HE HAS GONE AND THEY MISS HIM SO.
A MAGICAL DAY MADE SPECIAL WITH SNOW,   WAS THE DAY REGGIE'S LOVED ONES WATCHED HIM GO.
BUT THEY ALL KNEW WHY,  AND REGINALD TOO,   SO UP HE WENT AND FLEW AND FLEW.
HE FLOATED UP SO VERY HIGH,  HIGHER AND HIGHER 'TILL HE TOUCHED THE SKY.
SO VERY HAPPY AND FILLED WITH BLISS,   REGINALD TURNED AND BLEW A KISS.
HIS LOVED ONES WATCHED FROM DOWN BELOW, AND CAUGHT HIS KISS ABOVE THE SNOW.

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY , TODAY  DECEMBER 7th
TO MY DEAR CREATOR BARBARA.

 If it wasn't for her I would not exist on this planet Earth and I am so happy to be living in Clover Cottage with my vegetable garden and my friends Doodle, Pearl and Mango, not forgetting  all of my other dear friends in this whole wide world .
 Also my dearest friend Reginald Rabbit who no longer lives on this planet but now has a blissful  life far far away (but at the same time is still here with me )
I am so grateful to have them all in my life.

Sherbet is very sad to hear that Nelson Mandela has left this planet Earth.

Oh how sad I am.
 One of my most favourite humans in the whole world has left  his human body and gone to his new home far far far away. His name was Nelson Mandela. What a magnificent human being he was.
 I will miss him very much and I send all of my Sherbet Sheep love to all of the people in South Africa especially at this moment to my cousin Stefani Sheep who is there right at this minute !  Goodbye dear, wonderful, special Nelson Mandela.
